Hey my friends school's out for now, Spring Break! Yoo hoo!
I figured I'd share a little of my work with you all.
The above is a movie poster project I produced in Adobe CS6 Illustrator.
It is a program used to, funny enough, illustrate with.
I spent many hours staring at my screen on this project.
Too much time actually, I started to see tracers when I'd look up.
Anyway it is unique and all mine,
although I will admit to borrowing the style in this piece.
A common enough occurrence in the art world.
We had to come up with a movie to go along with our poster.
It could be a real movie or one we made up.
And, yes there is a movie titled, A Boy and His Dog.
Actually there are two movies with that title.
My movie is not related to either of those.
The inspiration for my movie came from my tag line on the poster,
"He thought his dog was dead, she was just playing."
I can hear that said by that really gravelly voiced guy on the movie trailers.
So, that's the story for my poster and now I have it on my wall.
School was good, I learned a lot of neat stuff relating to my major.
And, I'm still excited about Technical Communications, what could be better?
Besides my Design class, I learned about grant and proposal writing.
My group and I wrote a grant request from a funder to sponsor a local non-profit.
My other class was more about the technical aspects of document setup in professional writing.
In that class my group and I developed a resource guide for a different local non-profit.
I didn't have any final tests, but a lot of major projects that were completed,
both in groups and by myself, all stress, all the time, all good.
Anyway I'm taking some quiet time for myself, which is great
and I hope to see my friends here.
P.S. No I don't have a dog.
School keeps me far too busy and I have no idea where I'll be in a year,
or if I can keep a dog when I get there. So, sorry...
Thank you, C. Cory Spencer
